In the starting blocks: ten concrete proposals for fair pay in culture

Give your opinion on the proposals with ten new practice tools aimed at fair payment in the cultural and creative sector before they become final? You can: starting this week, the major consultation will begin.

Call by advisory councils on earning power and guidelines

The earning power of workers in the cultural and creative sector lags behind, the Council for Culture and the Social and Economic Council noted back in 2017. The councils called for the development of guidelines for reasonable compensation. Based on that, a Labor Market Agenda came into being and the Fair Practice Code came into being. But for years it remained fairly quiet around the fair pay component. This will change as of now.

Ten proposals for practice tools from six fairPACCT chain tables

Ten proposals for practice tools from six fairPACCT chain tables appear this week: Archaeology, Culture Marketing and Communications, Freelance Classical Musicians, Arts Professionals in Cultural Education and Amateur Arts, Arts Organizations, Pop Musicians. Four more fair pay proposals from the Film/AV chain table will appear later in October. Making the fair pay proposals online and publicly available is particularly important at this time. It is expected that the national study on the additional cost of fair pay by SiRM/PPMC/HTH will be published in early November. With this, we want to make a connection.

Consultation to start later this week

More information about the consultation on the fair pay proposals will follow later this week via a separate newsletter and mailing. Insight will also be provided on fairpacct.nl for each chain table about the creation of the practical instruments.
