A Manifesto, a Whitepaper and Tariff Guidelines. The Culture Marketing and Communications chain table has taken important steps toward change and growth in the industry and is entering an exciting period. Independent chair of the chain table. Joan Nunnely, talks about it.
“Friday, September 22, was a milestone in our joint efforts in marketing and communications within the cultural sector. Our 6th meeting was a platform where we shared our vision and plans, and I am excited to bring the exciting updates.”
The Manifesto is ready for the world!
“Around October 19, our Manifesto will be launched, after thorough consultation and a final GO. This Manifesto, which contains seven key points, emphasizes the crucial role of marketing and communication for participants/audiences, the cultural sector and society. Together, we want to draw attention to the impact our sector has and will continue to have. This is a crucial step toward a better future for cultural marketing and communications.”
Inspiring case studies in the Whitepaper
“In the Whitepaper we highlight seven inspiring practical examples that show that marketing and communication in the cultural sector go far beyond advertising campaigns and ticket sales. They promote innovation, connect and make culture accessible to all. This Whitepaper, which follows our Manifesto, will also see the light in October 2023.”
“Marketing and communications go far beyond advertising campaigns and ticket sales.”
Rate Guidelines and Renewal
“We have made great strides in defining rate guidelines with five job levels for different disciplines, but we realize that current collective bargaining agreements are traditional and conservative. Therefore, we are working on a new guidelines model to provide the industry with appropriate guidelines that contribute to innovation.”
Communication and Stakeholder conversations.
“Chain table member Ailing Eelman has prepared a comprehensive communications plan, and we are working on a long list of funds, partners and municipalities to engage in conversations. These conversations will focus on our Manifesto, the practical examples in the Whitepaper and the pricing guidelines. We stress the importance of the “triple A” approach: draw attention, encourage and accept. Reaching the public is not a given.”
Progress and evaluation
“The working groups for the Manifesto, Whitepaper and Rate Guidelines worked hard to have the practice tools ready by October. We managed to do that! We are also scheduling 2-3 more meetings to closely monitor progress and evaluate the results of the discussions in the field. In doing so, we will also discuss the fair pay debate in the House of Representatives, important for our progress.
These are the important steps we have taken, and we are on the eve of an exciting period for our chain table MARCOM. Let us continue to work for change and growth in the cultural sector. Thank you for your commitment to this chain table!”
