Milestone chain tables program Improving Working Conditions

An important milestone was reached this month within the Improving Working Conditions and Collective Agreements program. For three years, we have been helping six consultation tables get started each year, guiding participants toward making concrete agreements on, among other things, fees. Earlier this year, the pop music, archaeology, amateur art/art education and Film/AV sectors made a promising start at different speeds. At the end of June, two more sectors joined the frontrunners, freelance musicians Classical (see photo) and the design sector. The latter sector still involves preliminary research to which a guidance committee met. However, this group has the potential to grow into a chain table. The same situation also exists among professional photographers. And with a kickoff for a chain table for literary organizations on July 11, the program is well on track in terms of realizing six tables in 2022.

The first independent chairs have also been appointed. Henk Koster (independent consultant and now director of SIKB) has taken up the gavel with the archaeologists, and with Amateur Arts/Art Education, Bertien Minco (independent consultant and now director of Camp Westerbork) fulfills this role. Behind the scenes, explorations are taking place with visual arts, marketing communications professionals and media practitioners.

“more and more red threads coming to light”

As stated;

there are different speeds. Sometimes additional research is still required, sometimes it is still a search to find and bind the right parties. But the commitment in the various sectors to achieve greater professionalization and regulation of Fair Practice themes is great everywhere and deserves much appreciation. Also, more and more common threads are coming to light on themes that are at play at various tables. Therefore, the intention has arisen to organize inspiration sessions on some dilemmas or best practices for members of chain tables and sounding board groups belonging to them. On November 3, Platform ACCT is organizing its annual event, which this year is dedicated to this program. Also a wonderful opportunity to get inspired and question peers.
