Would you like to share your opinion on the proposals featuring ten new practical instruments aimed at fair payment in the cultural and creative sector before they are finalized? You can: the major consultation starts this week.
Call by advisory councils regarding earning capacity and guidelines
nThe earning capacity of workers in the cultural and creative sector continues to lag behind, as the Council for Culture and the Social and Economic Council already observed in 2017. The councils called for the development of guidelines for reasonable compensation. This led to the Labor Market Agenda and the creation of the Fair Practice Code. However, for years, it remained relatively quiet regarding the fair pay component. That is changing as of now.
nTen proposals for practical instruments from six fairPACCT chain tables
nThis week, ten proposals for practical instruments will be published from six fairPACCT chain tables: Archaeology, Culture Marketing and Communication, Freelance Classical Musicians, Art Professionals in Cultural Education and Amateur Arts, Literature Organizations, and Pop Musicians. Another four fair pay proposals from the Film/AV chain table will be released later in October. Making the fair pay proposals available online and to the public is of great importance right now. The national study on the additional costs of fair pay by SiRM/PPMC/HTH is expected to be published in early November. With this, we aim to establish a connection.
nConsultation to start later this week
nMore information regarding the consultation on the fair pay proposals will follow later this week via a separate newsletter and mailing. Additionally, fairpacct.formfestdev.nl will provide insight per chain table into the development of the practical instruments.
