A new practice instrument was presented during the Start to Sing NL event on September 19, 2026. The arts professionals in Cultural Education and Amateur Arts Sector Table has recently been working on a discussion guide and roadmap.
To facilitate ‘the good conversation’ between conductors and (often volunteer) boards, Koornetwerk Nederland and the Bond voor Orkestdirigenten en Instructeurs (BvOI), in collaboration with fairPACCT and the LKCA, are presenting a new Discussion Guide, including a clear Roadmap. Through ten steps, you will discover the areas of work of a conductor or artistic director: from regular activities such as leading rehearsals and concerts to ‘extra’ activities such as administrative coaching of volunteers or developing specific educational material.
The publications thus provide a starting point for clients (such as choirs and orchestras and their boards) and contractors (such as freelance conductors) to identify shared interests together and reach sound working agreements.
