On Friday, September 12, during the Gaudeamus Festival in Utrecht, the Nieuw Geneco Fair Practice Award was presented to the New European Ensemble and Stichting Perforator. They demonstrate what a fair collaboration between client and contractor can look like.
During the ceremony, Esther Gottschalk, director of Nieuw Geneco, the Dutch professional association of composers, and Noud van de Rhee, programme manager of fairPACCT, announced that a new consultation table is being launched on the topic of grand rights. Nieuw Geneco already participates in the Jazz/World/Contemporary Composers & Musicians chain table, which previously validated and substantiated Nieuw Geneco’s rate guidelines.
Under the auspices of this chain table, a spin-off will launch in the coming months, which will evaluate and further develop (partially already developed) model contracts in broad consultation. This is an important step within a complex legal domain. FairPACCT is pleased to contribute to this, with the goal of fair payment in this domain.
