The Platform ACCT Film/AV Production chain table presents the Film and AV Production Roles Guide for public consultation.
This Guide was developed as a supplementary tool for the AV Sector Assignment Compass to establish the level of responsibility for a role and determine the corresponding freelance starting rate.
The Guide contains:
- an overview and description of tasks and activities for common assignments within audiovisual productions—such as feature films, documentaries, animated films, innovative media productions, and drama, documentary, and animation series;
- the reference and derivative assignments drafted by Bureau Berenschot and categorized by level of responsibility for the AV Sector Assignment Compass;
- additional descriptions created with input from representatives of the various departments at the Film/AV Production chain table, their constituencies, and the Netherlands Film Academy.
The descriptions provide an initial impression of the tasks and activities per role. The classification by level of responsibility and the associated freelance starting rates have been independently validated by Social Finance Matters.
In a number of descriptions of the reference and derivative assignments, corrections are visibly indicated. These adjustments will be implemented in the final version of the Guide and have also been independently validated by Social Finance Matters.

We welcome feedback by Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the latest via the consultation form below. The chain table will process all input into the final version of the Guide, which will be published before the end of this year. Additionally, the content of the Guide forms the basis for a web application that connects the various practical tools of the chain table. This will allow professionals to calculate a well-founded opening bid for negotiations with clients in a user-friendly manner.
Download the consultation form below. You can email this back to fairpacct@platformacct.nl before November 5.
