Practical tools are developed by the chain table, potentially with the assistance of external research agencies. A practical tool can take the form of a best practice, a conceptual framework (including definitions), a manual, a fee guideline, or a proposal for (collective) agreements.
The rates in this table constitute an advisory for fees paid to support acts based on venue capacity. The scale was developed by a working group within the fairPACCT Pop Musicians chain table, partly in response to the Fair Pop Pilot 2024. The chain table advises the sector to apply this scale in 2026, after which an evaluation and possible adjustment will follow. Booking agency and festival organizer Friendly Fire will implement this new scale as of January 1, 2026, and invites the sector to follow suit, thereby setting a new and more appropriate standard for support act compensation.
