Since the summer period, fair pay proposals from four sector tables have gone into consultation, including the proposal from the Ketentafel Jazz/World/Contemporary Componisten & Musici. Stakeholders were asked to review and test the proposal for the fair pay practical instrument — a report containing freelance rates for concert performances by musicians and composition commissions for composers — and subsequently provide feedback. The sector table has worked with this feedback. The final report is now ready for practical implementation.

Public consultation feedback

On Monday, July 22, the summer consultation began regarding a fair pay proposal from the Jazz/World/Contemporary Composers & Musicians chain table. The proposal concerned rates for concerts by musicians and composition commissions by composers. Based on extensive input during the consultation, Bureau KNYFE, in collaboration with the chain table, can now present the ‘Final report on rates for composers and musicians. Results of fair practice instrument development for jazz/world/contemporary.’

The practice tool

Final report on rates for composers and musicians. KNYFE. October 2024.
