Since January 1, 2025, fair pay has been a national requirement. For instance, institutions and activities receiving national subsidies must adhere to the<br\/>Fair Practice Code. To assist in the concrete introduction and realization of fair pay, Platform ACCT collaborated with the <a href=\"https:\/\/vng.nl\/nieuws\/werken-aan-fair-pay-in-de-creatieve-en-culturele-sector\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">VNG (Association of Netherlands Municipalities)<\/a>. In 2024, we published the guide &#8216;Van schatbare waarde&#8217; (Invaluable). Since then, much has changed and progressed in the field of fair pay.     <br\/><br\/>Many workers in the cultural and creative sector are self-employed: 57% of artists and 32% within other creative professions. With the Deregulation of Employment Relationships Act (DBA), the national government is tightening supervision over the verification of self-employment status. In the addendum, we outline what municipalities need to examine more closely when assessing the employment situation of workers. Additionally, we discuss alternatives to employment or self-employment, such as secondment, temporary staffing, payrolling, and structures involving private limited companies (BVs) and partnerships.   <\/p>\n\n<p>With this guide, we demonstrate how governments can concretely introduce and realize fair pay.
